A competition organised by cattle farmers for cattle farmers

The Holstein Night promotes the Holstein breed in Wallonia. Each year we take innovative steps to respond to the requirements of livestock farmers and partners.

The centre is prepared by cattle farmers for cattle farmers. That is the secret to the optimum comfort provided.

Each animal will be kept in the best possible conditions to be prepared for the competition.

The animals will be well taken care of from the moment they arrive at the competition site.

A sawdust covered floor, a washing space with several shower heads, a milking room with separate stations for milking with or without antibiotics and a rope and halter will all be provided.

Transport and a professional clipping service will also be provided.

A team of students will also be available to help farmers with their preparations. They will also ensure the walkways around the constructions are kept clean, and rake the ring.

The organisers will also ensure all the farmers are welcomed in style with a meal of spaghetti organised for the Friday evening along with breakfast for Saturday morning.

A professional photographer will be there to help with promotion for the animals after the evening in the specialised press in Belgium and abroad.

In addition to the practical side of things for the farmers, the Holstein Night stands apart from other shows due to its incomparable show ring. Coloured sawdust, finely raked and large-scale sound and lighting infrastructure all transform this competition into an exceptional show.

Once in the show ring, the beauties will dazzle under the glow of the spotlights. The presentation and chosen music have not been left to chance. The Holstein Night has a new anthem for the occasion, “Et c'est parti pour le show” by the French singer Nadya.

As usual, all efforts have been made to showcase both animals and their owners. Each livestock farmer will receive a souvenir gift, and there will a number of valuable prizes for the owners of the winning animals.
